Hey guys,

I worked in dental clinic for a year as a Intern rather than shadowing.

As far as i understand, dental schools require many hours of shadowing.

I know i fulfilled that amount time as a intern.

Does dental school think i am in good shape? or Should i shadow some other

dentists?

And for Extra curricular/ volunteer/ community service part on application, I did bunch of volunteering activities in one organization.
Since application just want me to record organization and brief description (less than 175 characters), i can not write out many activities that i have done in organization. 175 characters are too short to write out all.

Since that organization is only one i have participated, i should write out all the activities. Otherwise, dental school will think that i am not really involved in ec even though that is not true.

How should i do?

Thanks

when you say intern do you mean as an assistant?

i didnt really "shadow" any dentists. i just put on my application that i assisted my dad chair side for like 280 hours.

i think it will be a good idea to shadow some specialist for a few hours to see what it is like.

as for the one organization thing. i dont think you should break it up. you will have to find a way to fit it all into 175 characters.....

if you really want to elborate on something really important you did for the organization then put it in your personal statement?

if you worked a lot for that organization just estimate how many hours you worked and put in the hours.

for example, i go to my dads office every saturday to help out. i am there all day but i am just going to say i do about 2 hours of work. 50 weeks a year. 3 years. that would be 300 hours...
