Intern year start dates

Alright...so I know this sounds trivial with all the other crazy crap of residency application going on, but does anyone know how early in June intern year starts? Current residents and interns, some help please?

I'm best man in a wedding in Beijing on June 1st and am trying to buy plane tickets, but am terrified that I'm going to match somewhere that will want me there on the 10th or earlier than that. I know every school varies, but I just want to get an idea. Because tickets to China are fricking expensive.

I'm sure others know better than I do, but I believe actual residency starts around the first of July. I know one of the programs I'm looking at starts the orientations, etc, in mid-June.

I don't think you will have a problem as long as you are back by the 13th. Most programs have 1-2 weeks of orientation that is required. Also a few programs actually start residency a week early. This allows them to give their interns an extra week of vacation. I know one program where all the rising 2's get the last week of June off (which means all the new interns are there already).
