Hey guys. Quick Q, so i know some places have only restricted practice rights for D.O.s. honestly i'm probably not even gonna do it (practice internationally). But i would love to work with doctor without borders. So i was wondering if a country would give practice rights for a limited time if you are volunteering with an NGOs. Specifically i was wondering what was the scenario in case of India, b/c it just says undetermined. Well thank you for the help.

The limited practice rights are only for international graduates. In most other countries besides america (including europe), a DO degree is more like chiropractic in that they are not physicians and only do OMM. But if you graduate osteopathic medical school in america (and have a license), you can practice anywhere you want

No, you can't. The US DO is recognized in ~45 countries.

To do short term work with groups like Doctors Without Borders you don't have to have a license in that country. That type of requirement is waived by the countries requiring humanitarian aid or it is bypassed by working in conjunction with licensed physicians in that country.

The lists of international practice rights apply to those who wish to permanently relocate and practice in another country.
