I got the acceptance on April. Are you applying for the International Pharmacy Program? This program requires you to have a BS in Pharmacy before you apply, which I got in Cuba. It does not require interview. It is solely based on your performance and key courses such as Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetcs, etc. 🙂

yordi71,

Hello I go to Nova, I am not an international student, but I have had a few classes with this years international P1 class. They have a class separate from the entry level pharm D class, but we do get to interact in some classes. From what I can tell , the international students are the nicest group of people. I am sure you will have a great class. I know the international class is not that large , but I am not sure as to the exact number of students. the first year you have a few classes with the P1 class and other classes for the international students only, I guess it is during your second semester that you have a few classes with the P2's and the P3's. If you have any questions about school in general, feel free to ask. Good Luck

Hello there, 🙂
Iam glad someone answered me back. Well, how is it going for you so far. Is it hard for you. Are you in P1 regular PharmD Program? How are the Professors? Telecast means that we are going to get classes from a TV screen or something like that? What are the pro's and con's of telecast classes? So far which class is been the hardest for you?Sorry for so many questions. Ahhh, I almost forgot, can I ask for a loan to buy me a car to the Financial office? 🙂 Where are you from and what is your name if you don't mind? 👍

yordi71,

Hello again, My name is Patricia, I am from Miami (born here) and I will be a P3 in the fall 🙂 So far school has been good, I am a bit older than most students (35) and I have a family (2 kids and husband) so if I can do this anyone can hehehehe The classes will be telecast (seen from another location on huge screens) or live (the professor will be there) Honestly, there really aren't too many cons with the telecast classes unless the connection between Davie, West Palm, and Puerto Rico goes down (does not happen too often) Nova really has nice auditoriums (It should with all of the tuition we pay 😉 ) There are huge screens as well as smaller monitors to watch the lectures on, each seat has a microphone that you can ask questions at, no matter what site you are at. It is sort of neat because you really do get to meet people from other sites because of the technology. The toughest class so far for my class and the international students was therapeutics and pathophisology I, it is just lots of information and you really have to keep up with the class. I am not sure if you have to take Biochemistry, but that was another class which gave people a hard time.
As far as financial aid , I would call them, the loans they provide are for tuition and housing and transportation (so you can purchase a car) not sure how much they offer international students though.

I hope this helps
Patricia

Yordi71,
You are very welcome, I do not know of any international students that post here on SDN. I have never worked while in pharmacy school, I have two kids and a husband, to me they are work enough hehehehe. You could probably call student affairs at Nova and see if they can get you in contact with other students in the international program, they are super helpful. 🙂

Hi, how are you?
Patricia I got awarded for $35,000.00 and my cost of attendance is ~$42,000.00. So i am short $7,000.00. Did you apply to Sallie Mae directly or you should go through our Fin. Aid office. How did you do this when you first started?Give me some tips you did so I don't make mistakes that can cost me a lot of money in the end.

Hey my sisters applied 2 this program in Feb 05, I hope it wasnt 2 late, and they could not get hold of any1 in the office 2 check their status, how were u notified about ur admission? and plus can u provide me with ur email ID, I have few Q's to ask. My two elder sisters are pharmacists from India, who graduated in 2004. On arriving here they learned about this new rule prohibiting foreign pharmacists to take NAPLEX and FPGEE because they graduated after 03 and they have a 4yr degree 🙁 . Immediately they warned me about this new rule as I too like them was pursuing Bachelor of pharmacy, at that moment I had completed 2yrs of pharmacy, I discontinued that and currently I have completed pre-pharmacy and plan to apply to pharmacy schools next yr. Hey if u or any 1 could please provide info or post info abt this intl program's acceptance procedure , it would be gr8 and helpful to many foreign pharmacists.
If u or any other person who is accepted for Intl program can u plz provide your ECE-GPA /stats, were u required 2 have pharmacy tech experince? etc. I will be waiting for your reply and once again CONGRATULATIONS on being accepted at Nova's Intl program and gud luk, glad 2 hear from some 1 who got acceted to that intl program 🙂 ,
