Generally postgrad training is longer in the UK than in the US because the hours are shorter. But you've got bigger problems than that. You can't use foreign postgraduate training in the US. If you want to come home to practice you must get a residency in the US. Also there was a thread about a month ago indicating that the UK is changing it's policies making it almost impossible for a nonEU doctor to get licensed.
Not much to add to whats been posted above, except to reiterate that you should not consider doing a residency outside of the US unless that's where you want to practice. It will be unlikely that you would receive any credit for doing so and if you wished to practice in the US you would have to repeat your residency here.
