Just curious whether or not anyone knows if international residencies are possible for podiatry students. I did find one podiatrist from NJ who has listed that he did a year of residency out of the country (Ireland to be specific)... I'm sure international residencies aren't common but I was wondering if they are at all feasible. Thanks!

There are fellowships that can be done in Europe. DPM's are not recognized in much of the world. Most Podiatrists in other countries are strictly palliative/biomechanic. They don't do surgery and many times, it is a bachelors or masters degree.

anyone familiar with the program in vancouver, b.c, canada? I can't find much info on it...no website.

I am interested about this one as well. All I know so far is that it is a 2 year program, but thats it.

I've heard of a surgical fellowship done in europe, but it was a rare instance, and was probably with MDs over there. I really don't know much about it; I heard about it during a brief discussion with one of the faculty members at school.

Ireland is mostly biomechanics and orthotics. Met a few of them in Shanghai, very rude bunch, but they really preached the idea that every needs to have an arch support.
