Can anyone here tell me how research abroad is compared to domestic research? Would participating in research abroad (probably publishing) be significantly better than publishing a project here in the states? I have the opportunity to go abroad and start a new project, which will likely end in a pub.; or I could continue my current research project (which I have heavily invested in) and definetly get a pub. I plan to attend a MD/PhD program and would like to know how much influence the "abroad" part will play when adcoms are judging my profile? Thanks for any advice!
