International scholarships

I've noticed that some schools offer scholarships to international students, but they seem to be very competitive. Does anybody know what it takes to get one of these scholarships (i.e. Study Melbourne scholarship at Melb. or Monash, International scholarships at ANU, etc.)? I'd like to have an idea of what scholarships I might be eligible for before I decide which schools I'll be sending my ACER application to.
