International SMP students

Just wondering how many international students apply to these smp or post-bacc programs. Just wondering if anyone out there has been through an smp program as an international student? and gotten accepted to medical or dental school afterwards?. What your experience was like? and if you needed to have really high marks just to gain acceptance to the smp/post bacc?. BTW I am Canadian and we dont have these sort of programs and most masters programs here are very into the research aspect and you take fewer courses. Those type of programs are not too suitable for GPA enhancement or increasing your chances etc. Also there is no linkage oppertunities with MS programs or anything which is why I was interested in these programs in the States. Anyone who could share their experience would be greatly appreciated.

I know a girl from canada who did the BU program and got into BU for med school. Don't know anything beyond that tho.

It says BU accepts 0-3 international students a year usually. And they pay tuition differently.
