Your aunt is severely mistaken, and your DAT is fine. You just have to apply broadly as many state schools will not give you preference because you are an international student.

You can always go on dating websites and sacrifice your body for a few years to get a green card. Then you can do whatever you want with them after getting your citizenship. Dental schools gonna make you show them that you got enough financial assets to pay for school.

I have an international friend from Cambodia and his dad basically had to put 4 year worth of tuition money as a trust fund in a bank with the name of the school as the ownership. it's crazy. he got exact same score as you and he got in NYU (crazily expensive) then got off waitlist on USC (another crazily expensive) then he got off roseman (where he ends up going now).

I've never seen a non-Canadian international student get in with anything less than 23AA.

Edit: just noticed you're thinking about applying to Texas schools...as an international. Now that's some admirable confidence right there....or a naivety.

Relax. You have a 4.0GPA and great DAT scores. If you're not smart enough to see you're competitive then maybe the Ph.D program would be a good idea -- let you build some emotional intelligence for a few years...

In all seriousness though, your stats will get you plenty of interviews.

It also sounds like you're going to college in the U.S., that's a bit different than a true international student. If you earn a 4.0 from a U.S. University then your chances are all that much better.

Thank you, I will still apply. I just got disheartened that these day everybody is making 23+ and my stats seem like it is only among the average (you too you know 🙄). I'm fully prepared for a PhD though.

And I do go to a university in Texas. Every single credits were awarded from my university and only in Spring and Fall semesters (I'm on scholarship that does not cover summer and fast term, so all my semester including the current one I have 16 or 17 hours+). I never took any online classes. I like human to human relationship regardless of how bad they are.

I understand. I was recommended to apply knowing full well I won't get in. My CHEM professor almost got mad at me for thinking of not applying to TX school and giving myself a chance.

Vietnamese international student here. Our stories should be similar. I don't want to say anything for 100%. Speaking of my situation my gpa is 4.0. DAT score is not that stella as well 22AA 24TS 21PAT 19RC 19QR. And I have 9 interviews so far this cycle. Well, of course I'm not accepted anywhere yet. But with similar stats including ECs and LORs i think you would not get any trouble of getting interviews. In facts I applied to 19 and only heard back from 9. You want to look into other private schools beside texas if you want to secure at least 1 acceptance. My 2 cents!! I dont think you should retake, 4.0!GPA will help

I'm positive that you gotta have at least green card to go to school in Texas. You should invest on a ADEA guide before spending all the money on application. Stay strong ! If there s a will , there s a way !
