Hi,

I was wondering if you can apply for the 0-6 pharmacy program if you are doing high school outside USA. The school is in British format and I am about to complete my A levels. I have the top A in bio in my class and am in the top 5% of my physics and chemistry classes. I didn't take math in A levels because I suck at it :S Do you think I have a good chance of making that up with my good grades in sciences? I also have a 2070 in SAT 2 and hopefully will give SAT 1 later on in the year.I am also a US citizen does that count for something? But the main thing is am I eligible to apply if I did high school outside USA? Thanks and sorry for all the questions. 😀

Of course you are! I graduated from HS in Russia, and finished my pre-req's here in the US. They have no problem with that. Now, on the other hand, if you were in college in Europe, then it'd take a mere amount of time and effort to get equivalencies and notarization for your transcripts.
Long story short, you are in fine shape. Sadly, they don't care about your high school marks. But it'll help you through college if you did so grand in HS. Good luck!
EDIT: I see you are applying for a 0-6 program. Chances are, as long as you have you SAT scores, you'll make it in fairly easily.

Are you eligible for the 06 program if you apply a year after you graduate? because i still have to give my SATs and the result for my exams comes out 3 months after i graduate. Another thing, are extra curriculars helpful for applying to USA. THANKS!

You are just as eligible to apply after a year as immediately after HS. There's no difference. Just make sure you know how to explain the gap. As per EC's and applying... I'd say they don't play as much of a role as if you were applying to pharmacy school directly.

ok thanks.... Do you mean ec's are not looked at that much when applying to the 0-6 program? I am mostly interested in the 0-6 program so i can start right after high school... Are chances good for international grads though considering that the program is competitive to get into? Thanks in advance!

Chances for international students aren't any different than US- born. Given you have the proper documentation to remain in the country. Not sure how much ec's play a role. If you held some kind of leadership position in school, it will probably prop up your chances. You'll be fine, just apply.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. PharmOi I just have a few more questions. You said they look at SAT 1 and 2 scores. So it doesnt matter if I didnt take math in high school right? Apart from SAT 1 & 2 what else do I have to take? I have a 2070 in SAT 2, is that considered good? And how competitive is it to get into these programs? Sorry for all the questions lol..Im not that familiar with applying to american universities. Thanks alot for the help! 🙂

Hey, now are are going too much in detail I'm not too familiar with. 😳 Here's a link to some info from this forum. I hope this helps. As far as I understand, you'd have to apply to the schools as if you were applying for Bachelor's. And you don't need anything aside from SAT's. You could go to every school's website and figure out what you ought to do.

Ok thanks a lot..can you repost the link? Its not showing up. Ty
