If you go to medical school in New Zealand as an international student from the US, is it hard to stay and do your internship in New Zealand after (if you're willing to work anywhere in NZ)? This is for a non NZ resident, non NZ PR.

If you do manage to get an internship and complete it, can you then stay in New Zealand and do your specialization too? Is it easier to get a specialization than an internship (once you've done your internship)? My impression is that in Australia the internship could be a challenging to get, but once you've gotten it, you're on equal footing with Aus citizens for specializations (even without getting your PR? But this I am not sure on). Is it similar in NZ?
