hello,
I'm from Europe and i'm really interested for an internship in US for pre-veterinary and international students; do you know if i can find something like this? i would like to work on small animals and i would like to be a paid internship if that;s possible(because i really need money); i've got some experience because i've work before in some clinics but i really want to try US 🙂 thanks

Whatever you do, make sure that you have your immigration stuff squared away. If you're going to actually get paid, you'll have to get a work visa... which is going to be tough if it's just a pre-vet internship. You can come and do like a 6 month non-paid internship on a regular tourist visa, but when you first come into the country you need to tell the immigration officer that you are here to "volunteer" at whatever place you're going to. Calling it an internship will raise eyebrows a lot of the time. If I were you, I'd look for a place that offered free housing and maybe a small stipend for food (that they usually don't count as "pay"). I highly doubt most paying animal care/pre-vet internships pay enough to cover much more than that anyways.

I knew an Australian girl who did an internship with me, and she overstayed her visa by 3 days... she was on a train to NY where she was going to catch a flight back to aussie. They arrested her (cuffs and all), booked her, and then deported her with a huge black mark on her immigration status. She won't be coming back here anytime soon. And this is from a country that the US is very friendly with in terms of immigration.
