i'll be going to school in ca, does anyone know where i can get information on getting my internship license or how? i would like to get that asap so hopefully i would have first dips for jobs around the school.

We were given the applications for the intern license during our orientation week. I don't think you can get it prior to starting school. I'm not sure how other schools do it, but at USC, they supplied us with the apps, and had us all do the livescan (fingerprinting) together, so all the apps for the entire class would be submitted together. You get cleared for the license rather quickly, and can check online to verify your status (go the California Board of Pharmacy website). They mail the hard copy of the license to you in 2-4 weeks of receiving your application.

I'm sure you can look for a job in the summer and let them know that you'll be an intern, but I doubt they'll hire you as an intern before you have a license.

more questions, can you still get a license when your school isn't accredited yet (touro)? because on the application it says you must be enrolled in a school that is accredited by the ACPE or recognized by the board. so i would assume it IS recognized by the board, but how do I double check that? I can't find any info on the ca state board of pharmacy website. 🙁
