Internships abroad?

Hi all, I'm looking into the possibility of an internship abroad either next summer or during a gap year, I'd like to go to Ireland or France, but I haven't been able to find many programs that are able to place someone in an internship with a veterinarian or an internship with animals in general. If you've done an internship abroad, where did you go and what program did you go through?
