I was wondering how medical schools perceive classes taken over intersession? I like to take my gen-ed classes over intersession because my university offers the classes online, the classes only take about 3 weeks, and intersession classes are usually a lot easier than the class during the Spring/Fall semesters.

The classes show up on my transcript as the exact same credit as if I had taken it over a Spring or Fall semester and it does not show that I took the class online. However, it is labeled as its own semester on the transcript.

Just wondering how many people take advantage of the intersession semesters (if your school offers them) and if ad coms look down upon taking a class in 3 weeks.

Thanks.

I'm not an expert on this, but I think if you have a lot of these courses, the adcoms might wonder why. (Same thing as if you took a lot of online courses (that are noted as such on your transcript) or a lot of condensed courses over the summer.)

I don't think it would be a deal breaker... but I may be looking at this differently than the adcoms would.

The adcoms will never see your original transcript, just your verified AMCAS app/transcript that has every class and grade then GPA broken down by year. No way for them to tell it was intercession unless it has a special course name or designation
