Interventional fellowship after a gap

How hard is it to do an interventional cardiology fellowship after a gap of 3-4 years of private practice? how hard is it to leave private practice and how do interventional programs look at cardiologists who worked for a couple of years as opposed to those who are fresh out of gen cards fellowship?
Anybody with first hand experience?
