My question is this: Do either residents or practicing rad oncs think that Interventional Oncology, i.e. transcatheter delivery or radioactive material, will eventually be taken over by Rad Oncs?

It makes sense that some Rad Oncs would want to spend a year doing a fellowship. I think these are great and effective procedures from what I have seen.

What say you?

I believe yttrium 90 liver metastasis embolizations are mainly done by interventional radiologists. Perhaps that's what to OP ment by transcatheter delivery.

Radonc certainly does them but interventional radiology usually has a role. and should.
