I have an interview on Nov. 21st at Midwestern in Glendale. It will be my first interview and I want to make sure I'm well prepared! I'm a very nervous person when it comes to interviewing and I haven't had to do it very much for even jobs (I've had the same job for 4 years). I've been looking online for some example interview questions and I haven't been very lucky. Does anyone have advice on how to prepare or know of any helpful websites/books?
Also, I've heard knowing the right questions to ask the interviewer can make/break your interview. Does anyone have good examples of what you would ask? I have ideas of questions but I'm not sure where to focus them.

If you happen to know the person interviewing you ahead of time, take some time to research them. If you can ask them what made them want to pursue such and such certification/credential, it may help set you apart. Know some of the nuances of the program that truly do make them different from others and voice these as selling points for choosing to attend their program over others. Be prepared to discuss a difficult situation you've overcome, your favorite class and why (be honest, I said orgo hah), and where do you see yourself 5 years from now. These are just a few examples of questions you may see. Most importantly, know why YOU want to become a physical therapist. This doesn't have to be contrived and blanket like. Be you and answer with your questions. I discussed some of my answers with friends and family and many were shocked at what I responded with to some questions. I felt like I should be myself, 95% or so, and not try to BS an interviewer who does this for a living. I feel like if you are respectful, well put together, and honest, then only good things will come of it. Honesty is key in my opinion.

@DPTcoasral Thank you! That is very helpful. I know that the question I absolutely have the answer to is why I want to be a PT. Honestly, I was pre-PA for about a year before switching to pre-PT. I figured out I wouldn't like being a PA by shadowing a PA. As soon as I shadowed a PT I was positive that's what I was wanting. I'm a little scared to say that I was pre-PA for most of my undergrad though. I don't want that to set me behind the students who knew PT was for them for the majority of their undergrad.

I interviewed there back in September. PM me and I'll run you through expectations.

Hi, do any of you think rescheduling an interview after confirming would be taken against me? Would it hurt my chances of being accepted with regards to giving a bad impression?

Sure, it could. It's definitely not a good thing.

It's not great, especially if they have filled other interview dates.
