Ok I have never in my life been short of words. But now that I'm trying to prepare for my interview I am getting very nervous about what to say. 😱 How are you guys preparing?? I'm really worried I'm gonna freeze up or something crazy like that. I know I won't but I've never been nervous like this. I'm usually pretty laid back. Any advice?

I would say that the main thing is to stay calm and be yourself. From what I hear most D.O. interviews are very low pressure. Know why you want to be there. You'll do fine!! Don't fret too much!!

hey,
i'd read what others have posted over in the interview feedback area that interviewed at your schools. look over your personal statement, secondary, and freshen up on your grades. this is info that most interviewers have right in front of them, so, maintain and support what you said. use specific examples when asked about anything. smile a lot(it shows you are happy to be there). have questions ready to ask them...what do you like/dislikeabout the school?...

they merely want to know if you're an axe murderer or if you're decent. one interview actually started with "so, mad cow, have you ever been convicted of murdering anyone with an axe?" it was a great icebreaker.

think of examples that show who you are. how do you cope with stress? give examples, not SCHOOL related. your grades reflect that.

finally, after this incoherent rambling i have to keep studying biochem, you are there for a reason. they already like you. most schools will accept over 50% of those interviewed, cuz they already LIKE you. now try and decide if that school is where you want to go. g'luck!

😡 :horns:

just relax, know what you've said, know your position on current issues, and most importantly, know "why DO?" if you're interviewing at COMP, you don't have time to worry about being short on words, the interview really flies by. my best advice: be yourself. if you're really nervous right before your interview, go to the bathroom, wash your hands (so they're not clammy for handshakes), walk around, and take a couple of deep breaths. if your fellow interviewees are pleasant, talk to them about their motivations. if they're decent people (i'm sure they will be), they'll ask you about yours and it'll warm you up for your interview!

good luck
