So I have heard from D4 interviewees and admissions officers that if you get an invitation for an interview you are already academically competitive in their eyes and that they are only testing for mostly your character, EX, and interest for Dentistry/the school. How true is this?

I would say depend on each schools, but generally speaking I would said that's false. You may meet their minimum academic requirement, but when handling out acceptance, they will still pick applicants with higher DAT/GPA majority of the time.

When two different people are interviewed they are not on equal ground. The person with more hours, higher dat and gpa, will get picked over the lower stat person if they interview the same.

Yeah that's true, the people I were talking to were from University of Maryland, BU, and NYU since they have a closed book system when interviewing. An admission officer from UPenn also said they do multiple interviews with closed and open book.

Are you saying BU is a closed-file interview? Because I interviewed and received an acceptance, my interview was not closed-file, he knew everything on my application

Don’t microanalyze. Just let whatever happens be. Admissions committees differ between every school and is different at every school. Go in, do your best, leave and let the dice roll.

Yeah, I met with Dr. Dunham couple of weeks ago and when I asked he said it was closed book.
Well I just interviewed in November, my interviewer knew my entire application and brought up very small details
