I was wondering about interview questions. First, how long should we expand on an answer. For example, if they ask me to tell them about my weaknesses, should I just list the weaknesses, or expand about what exactly the weakness is and what I am doing to improve on the weakness. Also, I know there shouldnt be long pauses, but is it ok to have a small pause after they ask a question so I can gather my thoughts and form an answer?

There is no formula for answering interview questions, they want to see your personality, the fact that you are not too nervous or too excited, best is to look comfortable and relax, pausing and thinking just a bit before answering questions is good (unless it's a question about something you should know for sure like your scores or activities) not too long though, just to show you are actually thinking and you have not memorized the answers. Try not to make your answers too long, but enough to explain everything, and it's really good to turn the interview into more of a conversation than question and answer.

Role playing would also help prepare for the interviews. Try get someone like your seniors or a good friend to guide you along.
