has anyone heard of this? i added pitt to my amcas last week, and yesterday i get a letter inviting me for an interview before they even sent me a secondary (i got the secondary today) i am guessing this is a good thing. 🙂

has anyone else received said letter?

pitt automatically invites people with a certain mcat cut off score and gpa score...

i think above a 3.7 on gpa and above a 34 on mcat or was it 36 guarantee you an interview...

congrats! (there are at least 150 people who were invited this way 😀

so much for "your well roundedness is important to us"

but knowing you choker..you'd probably get accepted anywhere your heart desires 😉

best of luck bro!

thanks dude, any recommedations for the pitt interview, anyone?

Well roundedness is important. Just because you have high scores doesn't mean you're not well rounded and just because youre interviewed doesn't mean you'll get in. As for your interview...relax and be your-self. It is very low key. You'll be interviewed by a 1st or 2nd year student and a faculty member. Check out interviewfeedback.com for more specifics. And good luck, I'm sure you'll do great.

Yeah, like Watcha said - U Pitt does pre-screening and sends out a good number of interviews just based on AMCAS info.
It was my first interview (9/11) - yup, you
read correctly - 9/11. It was a bit of mess and of course a shocking day for everyone - but the staff/admin were extremely helpful.
Don't sweat the interview - they were relaxed
and conversational. They are just trying to
get to know you better as a person -as I'm
sure you've heard. Definitely check out interviewfeedback.com like tonem said -- Click browse and select U Pitt -- then check all the boxes below (except those not applicable like maybe MD/PhD). Then read away -- from what I remember it was just like
a lot of those postings described it. Just review your AMCAS and be able to talk about your activities/experiences -- and the good ol strengths and weaknesses questions...I think they only asked for strengths this time though.
