Sorry for the late reply but i had my interview at UMN on the 10th of September and my NBDE Part2 on 16th and 17th, so didnt get time to jot down my experience.
We were 3 candidates for the interview instead of the customary 4. They said that they even call 6-8 candidates sometimes, but they try to restrict the no to 4. Dr. Peter Berthold, Ms. Janet, the other staff members and the students went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The day started with introduction, followed by interviews- each one of us was interviewed by 3 faculty members- Dr. Berthold being common for all 3 of us. I wont call it an interview, it was more of a discussion on any topic that comes up in those few minutes. The school is awesome😍, really huge, the community outreach program sounds really good, good clinical experience. They make sure that even the very last of applicants will be given due consideration and the seats wont be filled up till all the candidates have been interviewed. We have been told that we shall be informed about our status in the next 4 weeks. So after 4weeks, i shall get to know if i have been rejected, accepted or waitlisted, so i am just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.😀

do u have any work experiencs?
what part of your application u consider to be strongest?
I am asking this a friend of mine with ver good credentials got rejection from Umn..
And ya did u got a phone call and a posatl mail both for intervoew!

No gdcpatiala, i am not a green card holder. I am on H4, but they dont discriminate on the basis of visa status, coz on the day of interview, out of the 3 of us, only one was a citizen. On the contrary, I had some concerns about my visa status, and Dr. Berthold provided me with solutions to that. I do not have any work experience in US, but 2 and a half years of work ex back home. But i think they look at a lot of factors, like if you check previous threads, they had selected some of them last year who had no work experience neither in US, nor in their home country. Frankly, speaking i dont know what they are looking for in a candidate, so i dont know which is the strongest part of my application. I first got a phone call from Ms. Janet who informed me about my date of interview, and then they sent a letter by regular mail, informing me about the schedule for the day. Hope this helps.

hey toothydoc,congrats on getting the interviews.did u take the part 2 to improve yr score ? u already have passed it ,i believe. i just wanted to ask u about yr part 2 preparation ,what books u used and how did u find the exam? i dont know if u have posted it else where, but yr info wud be very useful since i am going 2 start preparing for it soon.thnks and goodluck with interviews

Hey guys , I 'm an international student I sent my application to MN but i didn't recieve a mail saying that my application was complete ....Does that mean that they not even consider my application for the interviews?
I haven't taken NBDE yet......

ya your application will not be considered complete until they recieve all your documents ie your score reports , did you get an email from janet saying she hasnt recieved your nbde... cuz my fren had few missing documents and aftre she recieved them , again she emailed saying now your application is complete

Hey thanks 4 your quick answer, but the thing is that I read in their website that u can send your application without having NBDE , so that's what I did....

but they will not review your application till they recieve everything
 
plz i need to ask, do i need to apply for nbde if i want to apply for graduate dental programms in Canada? i graduated from Jordan( middle east) ?,,,thanx
 
got rejection letter from umn today by mail. very disappointed. so that makes 4 rejections out of 7. really dont know wat to do

my stats are 89 . 105 . 3.85
8 months experience back home, six papers and one survey report

i took part 2 this month , and am waiting for my results ..

my application was complete on 29 th august

I got rejection letter from MN😳 the letter was dated OCT 9
But I wont give up I have my NBDE 1 in 2 weeks for second time my score was 83 and TOEFL 97. I hope u guys get interview and admition:luck:

I have been accepted in the University of Minnesota. I got a call from Janet on Friday and got my letter today by FEDEX. I am so happy:banana::banana::banana:

My interview experience, the no of people interviewed on one day is all mentioned in one of the posts in this thread. They have 10seats. Good luck for the interview. 👍

GPA- 3.54
TOEFL- 114.
Universities applied to: UMN, BU, UTHSCSA, Upenn, UMich, UCSF, UCLA, USC, UOP
Schools invited to for interview: UMN, BU, UMich, UCLA, USC, UCSF, UOP.
Interviews attended: UMN
Schools accepted: UMN.

thank you for your wishes...as for the part 2 study material, contrary to the popular belief, i found the decks to be very useful, also mosbys and the released papers. i also had some notes that i had prepared while i was in college. i studied for around 1 1/2 months- 2months. all the best for your exam 👍
 
I also got accepted to UMN. I got the call from Dr. Berthold on October 10th. It feels great and I'm really looking forward to meeting my new classmates soon! Good luck to all you guys who are still waiting!

congrats for getting the call.If you get a call you do have chance.last yr one of my friend who got interview calls in mid dec got acceptance.do your part well.

can you please share the stat.
