Interview attire at cold places?

I was wondering what guys tend to wear to interviews at cold places? I'm from Southern California so the weather is never really cold. However, next week I have an interview at ICO and the weather there appears to be much colder. Thanks

I will also be interviewing at ICO this coming week! I'm a girl, but I would say slacks, button up and a nice coat (wool or something warm)

I'm a girl, but I wear trouser pants to my interviews and have had some cold ones. You can get long underwear and it's amazing to wear under your pants/shirt to feel warm. Check out a sporting goods store or a department store. Works wonders!

But if you won't be walking a lot among buildings (just staying in one primarily), then I doubt you'll need it.

Well, you should definitely wear a full suit and tie. If you have some outerwear that is wool and professional that can work with it, then wear it outside.

Yeah I think I'll just tough it out and wear a suit. It cant be that cold haha.

It'll be pretty cold in Chicago this week maybe rainy too depending what day 😀...You don't really go outside in the interview, everything is in the same building. You only go outside once during the tour when they take you to see the residential rooms but that is directly across the street. I agree with everyone else though, wear a suit. That is what everyone was wearing during my interview and that's when it was 50 degrees and rainy.

Suit up dawgs. Undershirt + collared shirt + suit should be enough especially if you go from building to taxi to building or whatever.

Beyond that if you are really concerned about the cold there are some options...inexpensive and expensive:
-overcoat, can be a fancy one from Nordstroms, Men's Wearhouse, etc., or just a basic one that you take off as soon as you get in the building
-thin sweater (will keep you warmer and won't be super bulky)
-gloves, scarf, hat, things that can keep you warmer and will conceal well

I definitely agree with everyone else on this that a suit is necessary. You can wear whatever coat you'd like on top of it because you can take it off before anyone interviewing you will even see you. They will have you wait downstairs by the front entrance with anthony and there is a coat rack and area to store your suitcase that he will show you. I'm pretty sure you pass that area again on your tour before you head across the street so you could always grab it on your way out. At that point you are just with a student tour guide, so it really does not matter what coat you choose to wear. Good luck on your interview!
