Interview attire for women

Pick anything that is more classy than jeans and less classy than an evening gown.

As long as you look decent what you wear is not going to matter very much. They are much more concerned about you as a person and your stats than what you wear. Personally I wore khakis and a sweater and it worked for me.

Can't argue with success, but conservative, formal business attire is generally the status quo.

Do women usually wear skirts or pants for interviews? I am planning to buy a suit, but don't know which type is more appropriate.
Thanks!

When mmapcpro is finished with it, if you ask him nicely, he might let you borrow his leather mask

Just kidding. Business attire seems to be the norm. Conservative colors such as black and dark blue seem to be popular.

I see more women wear skirts than pants. I have both.

Thanks for the replies🙂
What stores are the most reliable? I need to buy a suit really soon. I saw some suits at Casual Corner and J.Crew. Where do you usually buy your interview clothes?

Hi! I was just going through these same questions earlier in September. As far as what kind of suit, I've seen girls wearing pant suits, but I also heard that some schools do prefer skirts as long as they're knee length or lower. I went with a long skirt suit just to be on the safe side, but if you prefer pant suits that seems to be okay. As far as where to buy the suits, I spent a day looking around, I really liked the Benetton (?) store, and I also looked at Express, the Limited, etc. However, where most of the prices for the jacket *alone* average at 140 dollars, I ended up going to my favorite store New York and Co and was able to find a nice jacket, skirt, AND pretty blouse for 135 total. The material was lighter for those however, so that might be a problem. Hope that's helpful!

Ann Taylor all the way. Very stylish but classy.

I have seen women wearing both and if the interview is on a cold day, may women prefer pants. invest in a classey/business suite and it will worth every penny. I nominate Ann Taylor as well, i was shopping with my sister and saw things there that are appropriate for a professional interview (what they have depends on the branch as well).

good lcuk to you.

I definitely was wondering the same thing myself. I have been to two interviews now, and have seen that EVERY woman has been wearing a black suit (pants/skirt). I personally ended up buying a black pant suit from Banana Republic and a blue silk button down shirt from Ann Taylor.
