How often does this occur? One of my friends took the April 22nd MCAT and just interviewed at a state med school. I asked him if he has taken the MCAT before and he said no. Does the rest of your app have to be near perfect in order for this to happen?

Is your friend in a 6 yr UG-MD or DO program? That might be the only exception. He also may have been lying to you. People do that. I know of med school that interviews without an MCAT.

Yeah. Doesn't make sense. The school did an incredibly late interview otherwise without an MCAT.

Sorry guys, I was doing a little diggin' to get to the bottom of everything lol. I spoke with him a few minutes ago. Apparently he hasn't taken his MCAT before April 22nd, but idk what to believe. When I met him in Undergrad he is what I consider a gunner (Not humble, brags about grades, and will lie if needed lol). Anyways, he interviewed at a state MD school, so idk how he interviewed this late in the app process. Now, he was involved in some type of shadow ordeal the med school offered a few years back, but I don't think that would help.

Haha thank you guys! I'm just going to assume he is a dirty liar. I don't understand why people would lie about a situation like this... Anyways, can someone answer this question? I don't want to start another thread for something so minor. Next week I begin research and it will continue until I receive an acceptance to med school (paid research for the win). Is this something I can/should put on my AMCAS/AACOMAS application? I think I will have around 40 hours before I submit my application.

Yes! Also, make sure to include that it will last for the full year. You might be asked about your progress, what you learned, etc. during your interview.

This is the same face I give students that say "Yeah, I know someone on the board at X or Y med school."

Awesome!!! Thankfully the Professor I am researching with is making sure I know my stuff before I walk into an interview lol. They told me I better not look like an idiot walking in.

You guys took the MCAT? ahahahahahahahahaha omg you've been duped.
