Do you guys think that wearing the school colors would give a candidate brownie points or not? For example, wearing the school color shirt or tie. I know they take into account the way you present yourself by the way you dress.

There are better ways to show your interest in a school than copying their colors. I think its very low and I consider it to be kissing up and not in a good way.

Honestly, it couldn't hurt. Contrary to what the above poster says, if it gives YOU confidence that it will increase your chances then go for it. However, don't rely on it and focus on how you can show them you're fit for their program.

And I wouldn't call it "sucking up" either, if they see you took the time to wear their specific school colors, when you may have had 5-7 other interviews with other schools, it's going to make you stick out from the crowd slightly and show that you really do care about attending that school more than any other. However slightly is all we can ask for in this situation when we are trying to maximize our chances.

All I'm saying is it may catch someones eye, whereas a bland suit and tie would get lost in the shuffle. So if it comes down to it, with two even candidates, I'm picking the one who wore the school colors, it's that simple.

I'd say introducing yourself and shaking the interviewer's hand before, then shaking their hand again and saying "thanks for your time" after the interview can give you some points in professionalism and courtesy.

i don't know about you but when i dress up i made it look good. why limit yourself? i'd be more impressed with a student that knows how to put together a decent outfit. its shocking how many people show up to interviews in such horrible attire.

It could give you personality points and make you memorable/likeable, but you have to genuinely be a fan of their sports team or something in order for it to come off alright.

I really want to make a good first impression not just the way I conduct myself or the way I talk to the interviewers but also by the way I dressed representing their school colors. I want them to see that if they give me a chance and grant me admission, I will truely represent the university.

I personally think it would be cheesy, but it depends on the school colors I guess. Some really garish school colors would just not look professional as interview attire. You're betting on the fact that your interviewer(s) will have a sense of humor/personality. Not a risk I'd be willing to take.
