So on my application i said i plan on re-taking my dats in september, but i never did and don't plan on retaking them anytime soon. But I got an interview. Now I'm afraid they will ask me if I did retake or plan on it soon and if i say no (with some reason of course..any ideas? I honestly just needed more than 3 months of studying and that's all i would have if i wanted to schools to get my new scores at a decent time for this cycle) they will reject me for that!

Any ideas?

I've heard of circumstances where a school who liked an applicant all around and would definitely accept them, but only with better DAT scores. In some of those cases, the school asked the applicant to retake the DAT. Don't know if this is the norm or anything, just something I heard. As for what to tell them, just be honest - dont make up a lot of excuses (well, unless you come up with somehting really good).

It is unlikely that dental schools are gambling on your future scores rather than base their assessment of the candidate on present stats.
