What do programs do when people cancel their interviews? Do they invite other people?

Yes, most programs hold on to a few extra apps that they will invite for interview should their top choices cancel

Yep, we keep a small backup list and tend to send out invites to the next person on the list the same day we get a cancellation. None thus far this year, which is very odd.... 😕
