Hi all -

I thought it would be good to start a post where we can help each other by stating by what methods different schools have contacted you for interviews.
(e.g., Vanderbilt: snail-mail; Yale: email; SUNY Upstate: status update, etc.)

If I knew, for example, that Brown notified by email or phone, I wouldn't be checking my status half a dozen times a day. On the other hand, it was an SDN poster who informed me that SUNY Upstate informs via sneaky status updates.

Do you guys think that would be a good idea?

Well, for most of the schools to which I applied, they're all going to be notifying us via status-updates on their webpage, with an email preceding that.

I would be surprised to hear if most schools don't email/snail-mail you, meaning..I'd be surprised if they just gave you a status update WITHOUT any kind of notifcation. That being said, I do know of a few schools that do that...like...

Drexel! (at least they claim that they dont' email you)

SUNY Upstate sent me a "complete" email, but did not tell me I was invited. I noticed a few days later that I was invited by checking my status.

Yale was an email.

Vanderbilt was a physical letter.

I applied to 16 schools... this is definitely going to be a long, long year...+pity+
