Okay here's a good chance to post interview dates and see if there's anyone going to be with you for moral support. (Right, miglo?)

CCOM - 10/22

You might see me arriving at Ft. Lauderdale Airport as your departing. Look for the guy with no tan (it's cold in Michigan)

Sara,

I'll see you at Nova on 10/22.

Mig,

You're REALLY missing out by cancelling AZCOM. Awesome campus, great program, great people. Good luck with UHS and WU.

Boomer: Yeah I heard it has a killer campus, but I am seriously getting sick of the heat here in good old CA, so I don't think I can stand AZ. My decision to cancel was based solely on weather.

As for TUCOM, its too expensive to live there.

Sara,

I wish you much success with all of your interviews. I thought I remembered in a previous post that your wrote that your MCAT scores might be a concern. What are your stats? They are obviously very good. My stats: 3.62 8,7,11R. I am worried because of my 2 scores 7 and 8. Thanks for your reply.

Hey ladies and gents, I have never posted here before, but I am gonna go ahead and give it a go. I have the following interviews so far:

PCOM - 10/14
UOMHS - 10/22
NOVA - 10/29

Good Luck to everyone.

Sara is just being silly. Her MCATs and stats got her a ton of interviews! So its all good.

Someone is finally interviewing at PCOM.

Hey Tammy! I wouldn't be too worried. My stats are somewhat comparable to yours, and I'm getting interviews to most of the places I applied. (My bio section was horrible) However, here's my disclaimer: Ever gamble? The admissions game can be a crapshoot. I've seen people with higher numbers not getting so many interviews. Have faith and keep applying. Perserverence will triumph in the end.

Tammy,
As applicants, we are examined as a total package. Ability to handle and succeed on Med school coursework as demonstrated by MCAT and GPA are just a part of your application. Personality and motivation are the others. Motivation is displayed on your application and by your health field experiences. Personality comes out in your application questions and mostly at your interviews. Fear not about your numbers, they only represent your ability to handle MS curricula. Make sure you are looking good on the other two angles, because GPA and MCAT won't stop you from bombing an interview!
Best of luck

I was pretty suprised about my interview invite to PCOM. Just to let everyone know, PCOM receives about 5000 applications each year, and they only interview about 500 people. They accept 300 for a class of 250. Also, if I might ask, if I get accepted into NOVA and PCOM, which school do you think offers the best program? I know that it is totally up to me, but I am curious about other peoples input.

Congratulations on your interviews. I am a first year student in Des Moines and thought I would offer those of you with interviews here a little advice and encouragement. If Des Moines offers you an interview then you have a very good chance at being accepted. The interviewing atmosphere is extremely friendly and relaxed (the same has held true consistently with classmates I have spoken with). They are interested in your understanding of the osteopathic profession and how you arrived at the decision to attend medical school. Generally speaking, there will be no ethical questions presented. Once again...congratulations and good luck!
