When did schools start to offer interviews last cycle?

From what I remember about last cycle, people started to get their interview invites from mid-august on. This cycle seems ridiculously competitive b/c some of you guys started getting your interview invites mid-july!

Last year, most interviews start around late Sep. and early Oct. But they usually send u the interview offer at least few weeks before the interview date. Here are the few schools I remembered:
Case: their interview process begin really early, around mid-Aug.
NYU: relatively early, mid Sep.
Stony Brook: End Sep.
Michigan: Early Oct.
UNLV: early Oct.
USC: early Oct.
Temple: early Oct.

How long on average do the dental schools take then, to give you an admissions decision after the interview?

They can't inform any students of decisions until December 1. Students that interview after December 1 can be made aware at any time, but they are *usually* placed onto a list and then notified around January 15, or February 15. This isn't always the case, but it generally holds true (the December 1 date is always true).

Does this mean that any student interviewing at a school before Dec 1st will always get their decision by Dec 1st? Thanks for the help.

Not necessarily, depends on how soon before Dec 1st you interviewed and all schools are different.

Texas schools start inviting even earlier than august...Case did this too last year I think.

Just because you interview before Dec 1st, doesn't mean you'll get a decision on the 1st or even the first week of december. If they don't call or write you in that first week but you had a pre-dec. 1st interview...it usually means you weren't selected right away and may be on a waitlist, but schools don't like to tell people right away whether they decided to waitlist or reject you cause they tend to hedge their bets in case something comes up. During the application process, schools generally have their best interests in mind, not yours.
