Hard to predict. Different schools iinterview at different times. Check out last years interview thread to see when schools you might be interested in will send out their invites.
I'd say do a few practice interviews first (Nov/Dec) but plan to do the majority in January since you might get late invites, might get more invites than you want, and because travel is usually cheaper after Christmas.
Admittedly, Jan is probably later than most people would rec but it was my strategy and it worked for me.
i did the bulk of mine in november-december. i was on easy rotations at the time and was able to take off as many days as i needed.
when you get an invite, reply immediately to ensure you get the date you want.
I really liked interviewing late (mostly in January) because it helped me remember programs closer to when I was ranking them. I also think it would have been more stressful to interview early an then try to keep showing program interest for a longer time.
I interviewed at several programs close together - about 3/ week for 3 weeks in a row. I can't imagine spreading it out over a longer time - I think I would have been really sick of it.
So, would Nov be seen as late to do an audition seeing as how programs are beginning to interview then if I do interviews in Dec/Jan.
I want to do one at another program for sure in Oct but think I am too late for another program in Sept so thinking of moving it to Nov.
Also, when doing an audition is it acceptable/ to do 2 weeks?
