It's typically Monday-Friday and expect the most of the day to be taken up (roughly 8-3PM ).

do they give you a choice or is the date given by them?

Every school has different days and different time ranges. Some start at 8am (UCLA) some start at 11am (NOVA). Interview days last from 3 hours to 6 hours (about 15-30 mins of actual interview, rest is used for the school activities/tour). Also, some of the schools may give you a choice of the interview dates, but some are set. Bottom line, it all depends on the schools you will be applying to. Read the interview feedback located at the top of this forum page for more information about the format, etc. Good luck👍
The majority of schools I interviewed at gave me several options, so that I could choose the date that was most convenient for me.I currently am working a job at a position that makes it difficult to get off work, does anyone know usually what days interviews take place? (i.e Mondays, Fridays, or pretty much any day of the week?)
Thanks
I think Friday is a popular day!
Most my interviews were scheduled on a Friday.
Keep in mind that some schools give you one date for the interview and they do NOT reschedule. So, my suggestion is that if you do get an interview, do whatever it takes to take some time off work and go to that interview.
Mostly Mon through Fridays. Few schools do Sat interviews like...Kentucky.
Midwestern-Interviews conducted Mon-Fri. When you receive an interview, you log into their server and they give you a choice as to what day you want.
Louisville- Interviews conducted Mon-Fri...they will give you a day, but will allow you to reschedule.
Indiana- When you get an interview, they give you a list of dates available and you rank them for preference. Interviews are either conducted Mon-Thursday, or Fri and Sat interview (You have to show up friday and saturday...friday is the tour and financial info presentation and all that, saturday is your actual interview where they give you a time and you just show up for that time, as opposed to waiting around all day)
OSU-They only have three interview dates where they do all of their interviews. They are always on saturday's whenever there isn't a football game, and if you cannot interview the day they send you, you are not able to reschedule and give up your opportunity there.
Those are the only schools I know of. It is my opinion that if you receive an interview, expect to be there all day. Also, you may have to take off more than one day that week, depending on location/travel time. Just be honest with your work, and tell them that these interviews may come up suddenly (as little as 1 weeks notice) and you will HAVE to go. Hopefully they understand. Good luck!

If dates available for interviews (assuming one is not too presumptuous) are not to one's liking perhaps adcoms should consider making house calls.
Most of Western's interview dates are weekdays, but they did a big Saturday one this past year and I think they'll be doing it again this year.
