Somebody said it on another thread: the interviewer says, "Tell me about yourself." The interviewee says, "What would you like to know?" Tit for tat!

In defense of psychiatry, I don't think I was asked this question on a single interview.

Oh, mine was just an off-hand comment. I would be surprised if someone interviewing candidates for psychiatry programs would be so lazy, because "tell me about yourself" is lazy. I am constantly mildly impressed by the posts in this forum that are a little more polite, and a little more honest, and a little more erudite than the average on SDN.
