interview fail

Wear a different tie. The one you've been using is clearly not working.

It completely depends on what you're doing.

Have you sat down with someone to do a mock interview? You may need someone to give you some feedback.

A couple of thoughts:
1) You are more impressive on paper than in person. On paper your activities and grades look good but when they actually sit down and talk to you, you can't talk about your activities in a meaningful manner or discuss what you got out of them. You don't sound excited about the activities.

2) You are abrasive/arrogant/obnoxious in person and aren't hiding it well.

3) You are average on paper and average in interview knocking yourself behind those who are above average on paper or above average in interview.

4) You don't interview well and sound scared/nervous/rambling/dishonest.

5) You don't have a good answer to "Why Medicine?" "How are you going to pay for it?" "When are you going to have a family?" and "What if you don't get into medical school." These questions are excellent at weeding out people who really don't understand what it takes to be a physician and are not ready to make the choice to enter medical school.

Good luck, hopefully you have someone who knows what they're doing who can sit down with you and give you some feedback on what you may be doing wrong.

What Always said.

Plus,

practice practice practice. As many times as you can.

Not with friends, with adults. Your advisor, a professor, a parent, a boss, your school's placement center. Give them questions to ask you (which correspond to the questions you had in prior interviews). Plus, have them ask questions they make up that you are not anticipating. If with some prep you can't nail them now, a second or third time ......

Do some internet research on how to prepare for an interview.

Good luck

3 interviews so far and 2 waitlists...:scared: and 1 likely rejection.

2 more interviews to go...

Guys got any advice?

To take the glass-half-full view, it's possible that this is just due to random chance; or if these are UC schools, CaliforniaAppli, that they are particularly selective, even post-interview.

Thank you guys for the replies. I think beginning to feel anxious due to not getting an acceptance yet.

I did look at the interview feedback also
