Can somebody tell me what interview for alternate list means? Is that the same thing as saying interview to be on their waiting list? And if you are placed on their waiting list, then that means you will for sure get in; it's only a matter of if enough people that are accepted withdraw from the school? So the people that get the main interviews (no interview for alternate list) means what then? So confused.....:scared:

You got it, interviewing for an alternate spot guarantees you nothing. You are at the mercy of someone else. If enough of them choose to go to that school you don't get in.

At Ohio state, they made it all the way to like alternate #32 last year. Some like the RDEP program only made it to like alternate #2.

I think it all depends on the popularity/reputation of the school.
Best of Luck!:luck:

So let's get this straight...

Interview (not for alternate list)
pro: acceptance
con: rejection

Interview (for alternate list)
pro: waitiling list which can lead to acceptance if enough accepted students withdraw
con:rejection

Is that right? Nobdy's ever explained this kind of stuff to me...🙁

Interview not for alternate list and you can still end up as an alternate

or end up waitlisted...as far as I know they are the same
