Interview Invite Burnout

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Had August interviews on a sequential Thursday and Friday in cities that are a 5 hour drive apart. I would venture to say that the second day actually went better but when I got home I looked in the mirror and my eyes were bloodshot from wearing contacts for too long.

As long as adcoms didn't think I was high, we're good lol. Overall would avoid doing that if possible but sometimes u just cant.

My quickest turn arounds are Friday —>Tuesday and Tuesday —> Friday all with West coast to East coast to West Coast to East Coast to West Coast.....I would have liked to have a full days rest between travel days as an ideal standard. It is easier to do consecutive days if you are out East where travel is not a full day...but you take what your schools will give you. This is a good problem to have. An exhausting problem, but a good one nonetheless.

But only have one West Coast interview right? And it's right around where you live iirc.

I think 2 days is reasonable. I did Friday -> Monday -> Thursday -> Monday -> Wednesday and I regret that. I'd say 2 days is reasonable but when it becomes a lot in a row, more space would be nice. It also depends how close they are geographically!

Correct, I have one interview in my home town in the west, then 2 in the Midwest/East, and 2 in the east in like a 2.5 week timeframe with the Midwest and East ones requiring 2 nights because my local airport is small AF. Meh. I know others have it worse.

The one time I tried to take advantage of nearby geography, the one interview slot that would’ve allowed it was taken up...in a half hour....this game is a game.

Hopefully. Although, our complaints are trivial in comparison to others. Having too many interviews and needing to miss class or work <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< (<*10^15) having no interviews at all.

10000000000% agree - we're lucky so far. V glad I'm on a gap year because I'm missing almost all of September for interviews and flights and driving. It's a doozy without classes so I can't imagine adding them in with it.

I have 2-3 back-to-back interviews every week this month. To be honest, I think it'll be fine, since I'll end up spending less time in transit (tried to group together interviews in nearby locations) and I won't have any time to overthink the previous day's interview.

Had a back-to-back also involving 6 hr drive that night followed by 2 hours in the morning. Know yourself. I knew that interviews wouldn't mentally tax me to the point it would effect my second interview. If anything, it helped my second interview go better because I was in "the zone". If you think you can handle it, go for it. If you have to question it, maybe put a couple days in between.

It really is a good problem to have (honestly so grateful). I'm out of town pretty much every Friday except 1 for the next month. Was able to schedule 2 far away ones back to back with a day in between (flight expensive AF).
Also been lucky that I can drive to half of them (all less than 4 hrs).

The only person I feel sorry for is my dog (and my rescheduled patients).

So thankful I haven't cracked double-digits. Thank you Lord
I know this is a joke, but I have reached my 6 interview maximum for affordability lol I will now initiate “protocol turn down II.” I only have 6 specific schools I will accept II from.

I'm doing this Friday --> Wednesday --> Tuesday ---> Friday ---> Monday/Tuesday. Thankfully only 1 is OOS. Let's get this bread.
