Interview Invite Pause at the moment?

Dear SDN community,

Is it just me or are the schools taking a break from contacting students, because for the past 2 weeks, I haven't heard anything from any schools yet. And I've noticed that the threads regarding interview invites on the forum stop coming in.

Any thoughts?

Agreed. It seems pretty dead, at least from what I can see on SDN. It might be because schools are just barely welcoming in their new class around this time.

Seems pretty dead to me, both from my personal experience /emails, and by SDN's topics. I'm a little surprised, I thought it would explode early august.

Sure you thought it'd be August? I am certain September will be the most hectic month from interviews stand-point. Oh well its all about waiting since I am sure by now all the early birds got their secondaries in, but it hasn't been long enough for adcoms to decide interviews. This is the proverbial lull before the storm. Exciting for a lull right?

omg...so it wasn't just me...I was so scared bc nothing has been coming in for about 2 weeks for me too...and I only got two interviews T_T......................................and both are not my top choices..........grrrr so paranoid~~

I have the worst luck ever. I bet you this cycle has the most number of applicants and the best qualified pool of applicants. It is the time of the year when the first year dental students are getting oriented and attending dental school ceremonies. That might be why the admissions seem to be at a standstill.

Well, you already have two interviews! I was in the fourth batch, havent gotten any interview invites yet, just working on secondaries and waiting patiently.

I stopped checking lols. It's good to get away from SDN for a while and yeah I do agree, there has been a pause as well (I HOPE!). Haven't received anything last week and boy am I starting to sweat.

I thought September would be the busiest, but I definitely thought it would pick up in early august. (a lot of schools waited until late july/ early august to even look at applications) I guess I was wrong, it must just pick up in September.

I heard that this year the first and second batches didn't have that many applicants as expected.

After applying several times in the past few years, it seems as though schools are a bit slower this year.

That probably is the case. Way too many 24/25/26 people on SDN this year!

i wouldnt think so. I got my first interview invite today 🙂 but some schools are early in reviewing apps and some schools havent even started. i believe univ of detroit mercy is one
