It happens sometimes. If you can't make it, let the program know quickly so they can fit someone else into that time slot.
I haven't heard anything back yet and still have 4 more programs to apply to. I am cheburasha btw if you guys can't tell with my new screen name. This is off top but I so wanted to share - I visited NYC and checked out a few residency hospitals, wow I was so impressed with all the programs and who would not die to live in the most amazing city in the world ! 😍
This is in the upper east, close to NY Presbyterian, a view from an apartment:

You're closer to NYP Cornell campus. Columbia is on the upper west side.
I love NYC too. It's a fun city for singles to live in and experience for a year or two max! IMO, not an ideal place to settle down though, because the rent and cost of living is soooo ridiculously high. On a couple's salary, it's do-able but I rather spend $1500+/month rent on my own mortgage.

Yaaay. Congrats! I'm happy to see the invites are rolling in for you, and I hope they continue to come. I really hope you get the best residency for you! You seem to have the qualities of a serious and qualified resident, and I know the programs will see that in you! Plus, you are an Ada Wong fan. Fans of Ada are always awesome 😎! 😛

I have heard that some programs may be more cautious to take a student from a newer school that they have no experience with. I think it really depends on the program though but I do not know from the program perspective, just things that I have heard.

We don't care. However, pass-fail programs don't really fit into our scoring rubric.

Really stoked though as my 1 interview was my number one pick and it came through first. What are the odds?!?

Surprised with the rejection I received cause the 4 invites I received were of similar caliber as the rejection program. Its a total toss up...😕

So I applied to 15 programs and only 1 interview so far..
Yes I know its over the top with the numbers..I had to do that as a foreign graduate with good grades, lots of clinical experience, although no publications and few research experience

Heard from two programs today so far. One invite and one rejection. The rejection wasn't a surprise. Now I'm at 3 invites, 3 rejections, 7 unknowns.
Got another rejection today. 🙁 up to 2 rejections now. Still waiting to hear from 6 programs. Wondering if the programs I applied to are too prestigious for my stats. Have a 3.6 GPA.....wonder if they are just getting so many apps that my GPA is below their cutoff. I really really hope to get at least 1 interview! It's tough to stay positive when all the news thus far is bad. Sigh. To others who still haven't heard good news - you are not alone!
I applied to 4 in NYS. Upstate NY though not NYC and have gotten 3 emails confirming materials but no interview invites yet.

I applied to 11 programs along the east coast and no news yet! i'm getting worried :/
Where did you apply ? James peters VA or Bronx Lebanon ? Bronx Lebanon I spoke with last night they said they'll wait till deadline to start reviewing apps which is today.
James Peters and Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn. Have you heard from either of those?
James Peters I thought deadline was today - I didn't submitt, Brookdale I applied like 2 weeks ago and heard nothing.

James Peters was originally 1/2...so I had it submitted before then. I did not realize they changed their deadline to today...sweet! I was starting to get nervous, that is one of the programs I really like.
Hopefully we both hear from Brookdale soon!! The worst part is just waiting to hear anything

Heard back from my number one choice today. Probably sounded incredibly confused and lost as I fumbled to get a pen, paper, and calendar open in my post-nap haze (the call literally woke me up).
That makes 2 interviews. 5 awaiting. Although I feel much better after tonight about it all.

Got another rejection today. Luckily, the two rejects haven't been in my top picks but still makes me fearful for how the other 9 are going to hash out. It definitely seems to be competitive this year. I guess there's always the scramble

That's the same thing I said after my first two rejections. It's rough. I'm not expecting too many more invites since pretty much all my other programs are in the same league.
