I know that almost all OMS programs require that you attend an interview to see how far you can bend over and for how long. I am not sure what this has to do with the specialty but I am sure that some of you OMS residents can help out and explain.

Here is a hint: it has nothing to do with the specialty but it has alot to do with residency training and furthermore, I am still bending over. I only have to maintain this posture for 1.33 more years. The nice part is once I am done, I will be able stand up like a man and kick the !#$@!@$ out of anyone who thinks I'll take that posture again. Whereas perio, you start upright in training and then when finished with training, you step in the real world and assume "the position" for the rest of your life... 🙂
If a residency does not require an interview I put categorize them as desperate. Most likely they will not offer great training. Plus, you really need to get a feel for the program and who you will be spending the next year working for.
You could end up at a p*ss poor AEGD offering 12$ an hour instead of advanced training & be working under a Tyrant. You don't want to waste a year and become bitter like myself. there is a reason my SDN name is MyAEGDSUX.
