Here's a puzzler see if u guys can figure it out - applied to 12 programs - received only 5 interviews. The 5 interviews I received were the top programs on my list (UCSF,UCSD, BW, Columbia+ Cornell) the rest of the programs all rejected me outright (places like colorado, penn, georgetown, jhu, nyu, miami etc.). I am not a typical candidate i was a columbia med student and did a columbia internal medicine residency and left in my second year to transfer to anesthesia. have no research etc. In addition for unrelated reasons I will not begin interviewing until Jan so my 1st 3 interviews are in the 1st week of Jan and the last 2 at the end of Jan.
Anyone wanna take a guess at my odds of scrambling - i mean it is an odd situation only 5 interviews but good programs and interviewing a bit late...what do u guys think ?
