It struck me today that I don't really know very much about programs OR big-name pathologists who work there... Spent the afternoon trawling through old threads, and found this list of questions to ask during the interview. Pardon my ignorance - I don't know who Dr. Coad is, but the list sure looks like it could be helpful.
I lost my copy of Iserson's.
Rats. The last time I saw it was July, when I used it for packing tips. I'm certainly not buying a new copy now!
Haven't officially started "reading up" about programs - I'm depending on a combination of hearsay, the uni websites and the directory of residency programs (the book, not FRIEDA).
Guess I'm depending on the actual visit to trigger more questions!
My advisor told me that he was not a typical interviewer.... he would basically talk to the candidate and decide whether or not he liked them. I'm all in favour of that approach!
