Two quick questions..

1) How bad is it i didn't send a thank you letter? I didn't know this was common until I read these forums...

2) How many interviews usually leads to an acceptance?

thanks

zero people care about thank you letters
they submit their assessment way before you have time to send one anyway

general rule of thumb is if you have three or four interviews that should give you a great chance of an acceptance
there have been people who go 10 for 10 but there are people who have 7 interviews and don't get in

Agreed. No big deal that you didn't send thank you notes. I didn't, and I still got in.

It only takes one interview to yield an acceptance, but how many it takes you may vary significantly. I had four interviews yielding zero acceptances my first time applying, and three interviews yielding two acceptances my second time. Generally, you should keep accepting interview offers until you have an acceptance in hand.

when do u usually find out about the decision after the interview?

Depends on the school. I interviewed at two schools in the last week and was told that they would send out the decisions on October 16th, and the other on October 23rd.

Other schools don't release anything until March.

Still other schools may not tell you for sure until they see more applicants. In general, 4-6 weeks seems to be typical for schools that admit on a rolling basis.

edit: many schools have committees that meet once a month and your place in line to be reviewed can depend on how close/far your interview was from a meeting day
