If you get an interview early in the cycle, does that increase your chances of garnering an acceptance or are you on an equal playing field of someone who gets an interview lets say in December or January..?

@Goro @gyngyn

I would like to know this too. Is it that it's easier to get an interview and (or) gain a seat in the class, earlier on?

I feel like most schools are on rolling basis. So the earlier you get interview spot, the better chance you will get acceptance. However, let's say you get waitlisted after your interview, then you'll be on the same boat as others that interview after you.

At my school, we want to snap up our earliest interviewees because they're from the top of the pile and can easily go elsewhere.

It completely depends on the school. I got into a school with "rolling" admissions when I interviewed on their 2nd-to-last possible date.
