Under what circumstances would you steal ? when is stealing justified ?

My honest answer is that I would never steal for any reason no matter what.😳 But if asked, I feel like If I answer it like this, they will think I am trying to act too perfect. Whats your answer ?

If stealing truly meant the difference between you living or dieing, and it did not physically harm anyone else, I think you would steal.

If it is true that you would NEVER steal for ANY reason, you need something to back this statement up. You are right you can't answer it well in a short sentence and still be found credible.

Answer Outline:

1. I would not steal under any circumstance.

2. a) I have never stolen in my life b) I stole a 10 cent candy at the store when I was little and reaped the punishment. I made an oath to myself never to again steal (give a short story in your life that has convinced you not to steal if you have one). ---What in your past proves (helps convince them) you won't steal in the future?

3. Explain the values that you have that has kept you from stealing. These values can come from being taught by parents to come from religious views.

THE POINT IS it really doesn't matter what your answer is as long as you can back it up. If there is a circumstance which you would steal (like saving someones life) then you need to let them know that you recognize their might be conciseness and you would be prepared to suffer those. 👍

This type of question is designed to see how you think when faced with tough situation. They are not looking for a right or wrong answer. What ever you answer, never say always or never as there are exceptions and you do not want to box yourself in. DP

Well, considering, I HAVE lived through a repressive regime (taliban), it is hard to say. When they were in power in Afghanistan, even if you would steal a piece of gum, they would cut your hands on a soccer field in public. 😱
