I wont be applying till next year in May to the Texas dental schools and in June to a few others, but I plan on applying the first day applications are open. Granted all your things come in and they like your application (gpa/dat scores/etc) when do they typically reply back requesting an interview? I know schools vary but if I apply first day what kindof timeline am I looking at?

Texas schools tend to interview early August to December for the majority of the applicants they want. So you might get an invite at any moment during that time. Each school has days of the week they interview people but I don't remember them at the moment. Baylor and SA are more or less done by Dec 1 but Houston interviews up until early spring.
Out of state interviews tend to be around a similar time frame. Fall semester for the majority but some schools do interview in the spring as well.
Interviews aren't necessarily first come, first serve either. Yes it's good to turn in your stuff early. But even if you submit on the first day, you might not hear back until November for some schools. Dental school admissions is one gigantic waiting game.
