ASHP and CSHP both use blinded matching systems to arrange residencies following interviews. My question, to anyone who has had a residency interview.. is that did you get "vibes" during some of your interviews that told you that a particular program was "very" interested in you?

I know there are rules that prevent programs and candidates from arranging ranking...but do some programs let you know that you'd likely have a place there if you ranked them high (without directly saying that?)

None for me. I did get compliments about my presentation at one interview, so I figured they liked me, but nothing more than that. The compliments had no effect on how I ranked places.

Programs should not be engaging in any activity that implies that you will end up there if you rank that program highly.

You may however have a gut feeling that things did or did not go well during your interview, but this is still a gut feeling which may or may not reflect reality.

Ultimately you should rank programs based on how well you feel they fit you and your goals, not how high/low you think the program will rank you.
