For those who have had interviews so far, did the interviewer ask you about your shadowing experiences? I.e. what procedures did you watch/enjoy? How much detail did they go in to? I'm wondering because I did my shadowing a while ago and am already forgetting most of the stuff I watched :S

I haven't been asked exactly what I saw, helped with etc... But it has come up.. just be prepared to talk about how much you liked it and be sure to show your enthusiasm for your shadowing time / what you learned about day-to-day life as a dentist.. at least that has been my approach

Shadowing is about the expiereince, not the specifics. They're not going to ask you about burr types - they want to see how your shadowing exposed you to the big themes of dentistry

If they do ask questions, they tend to be more around getting to know you as a person. They aren't going to ask specifics.

Here's an interview question for you:
- At what part in your shadowing and education did you decide "Ah! I want to be a dentist!" ?

As an assistant, I think there are few aspects to my work that I consider really important..

-Prioritizing the patient's needs and their treatment.
-Communication with patients, coworkers, dentists.
-Enjoying my job!

Think back on your shadowing experience and the general feeling you got from it. Are you excited about it? Would you enjoy working in that kind of environment?

Like others mentioned, shadowing is not about memorizing procedures/tools/dental codes.. it's about getting a feel for dentistry as a whole.
Let me know if I can be of any assistance 🙂
